The OM3 50 / 125 multi-mode fibre optic cables comply with ISO / IEC 11801. They are used in 10 Gbps networks to meet the growing demand for high data speeds. The OM3 fiber cable has been developed according to the latest standards of 10 Gbps and allows data transmission at a maximum distance of 300 m to 850 nm. It is also available for short distance and high data speed fibre optic communications.

Thanks to its excellent optical characteristics, unlike conventional 600 / 1200 nm fibres, it is ideal for multi-mode, cost-effective, multi-mode connections up to 10 Gbps.

Main characteristics

• Fiber type: OM3 Multimode, with a 50 / 125 micron (µm) core and coating.
• Covered color: Aqua, which is the standard color for OM3 multimode fiber.
• Connectors: It has a LC / UPC duplex connector at one end (the small beige / cream connector at the bottom left) and an MPO connector (Multi- fiber Push
• (On) black at the other end (the largest and most robust connector at the top right).
• Performance: It allows speeds of up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet at distances up to 300 meters, and can also support data transmissions of up to 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps at shorter distances, ideal for data centres and business networks.
• Jacket: These cables are often made of LSZH material (Low Smoke Zero Halogen or Low Halogless Smoke Emission), which makes them suitable for indoor installations.
