The Lenovo ThinkSystem SR250 V2 is a 1U rack server

The Lenovo ThinkSystem SR250 V2 is a 1 U single-socket high value rack server for growing companies that need optimized performance and flexibility for future growth, along with reliability, management and business class security. The server supports an Intel Xeon E-2300 series processor (formerly with code name) «Rocket Lake») or Intel Pentium («Comet Lake Refresh») and up to 128 GB of TruDDR4 ECC 3200 MHz memory.

Flexible and scalable internal storage configurations include up to ten 2.5 or 4 3.5-inch units with affordable software RAID or advanced hardware RAID protection and a wide selection of size and type of units, including SSD NVMe PCIe, SSD SAS / SATA and HDD SAS / SATA. In addition, it has an integrated 1 Gb Ethernet NIC and additional PCIe expansion slots for hardware RAID protection, network scalability and external storage connectivity.

The next generation Lenovo XClarity controller, integrated into the SR250 V2 server, provides advanced control, monitoring and service processor alert functions.

Scalability and performance

The SR250 V2 offers the following features to increase performance, improve scalability and reduce costs:

• Improved processor performance of a single socket:
• Intel Xeon Processors E-2300 Series («Rocket Lake-E») up to 8 nuclei and core speeds up to 3.7 GHz.
• Intel Pentium G6405, G6505 and G6405 processors («Comet Lake Refresh») with 2 cores and core speeds up to 4.3 GHz.
• Up to four 3200 MHz ECC DDR4 UDIMs provide speed and capacity up to 128 GB.
• It offers flexible and scalable internal storage in a 1U rack format with units up to 10 x 2.5 inches for optimized performance configurations or up to 4 x 3.5 inches for optimized capacity configurations.
• Up to three PCIe slots for E / S expansion, one of which has the new PCIe Gen4 interface to maximize E / S performance
• The use of solid state units (SSD) instead of, or together with, traditional hard drive units (HDD) can significantly improve the performance of E / S. An SSD can support up to 100 times more E / S operations per second (IOPS) than a typical hard drive.
• The new Lenovo and Broadcom high-speed RAID drivers provide 12 Gb SAS connectivity to the base drive plates.
• It supports two M.2 units for operating system start support with VROC RAID redundancy.
• The server has two integrated Gigabit Ethernet ports.
• Compatibility with a NVIDIA GPU to improve workload performance.
