The IC-78 is a high-performance HF transceptor. Its innovative features such as its 99 channels, its high Portor / Noise (C / N) relationship, direct entry to the channels, data communication capabilities and more, offer easy operation for all. All these features are offered within a compact and reinforced packaging very suitable for use within a base station or within a vehicle, as you prefer.
CHARACTERISTICS
Durable and powerful construction
The IC-78 offers a powerful 100 W power output to give you the power you require in your communications so you can reach the most distant places. Its single-piece construction, in cast aluminium, combined with a large heat dissipator, helps to keep the internal temperature low and ensures that the operation is stable during large service cycles.
Simple operation
The IC-78 is equipped with a large easy to read LCD display. It has a minimum number of switches and controls to select functions. The keys access the functions directly, without a separate function key. You can access your frequency* or memory channel number directly from the 10-key keyboard.
Operation higher base
For the first reception mixer, a four-element system is used, offering superior reception IMD, especially from within the band, near interference signals. It also has a well-designed double-conversion system that helps to minimize image and spurious responses by achieving better signal fidelity. A new PLL circuit was adopted to improve the characteristics of the Poradora / Noise (C / N) relationship. The combination of the four-element system mixer and a new PLL circuit allows for superior basic operation.
High sound speaker mounted to the front
With the speaker in front of the operator, it is possible to hear the audio sounds clearly without any impediment during the operation. It is no longer necessary to raise the volume manually to try to capture audio sounds.
High stability of frequency
When the CRISTAL UNITY OF HIGH CR-338 STABILITY optional is installed, it allows the extremely stable operation of ± 0.5 ppm.
Flexible filter selection
An optional IF filter can be installed on the transceptor, offering 5 bandwidth to choose in SSB, CW or RTTY mode.
VFO operating mode*
For continuous frequency operation, the VFO operation mode capacity is available*. It is appropriate to use it when searching for signals around scheduled frequencies, such as short wave emissions, etc.
