UTP CAT5 cable e
The UTP Cat 5e is an enhanced Category 5 Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP Cat 5e) network cable, which transmits data to up to 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps) to 100 MHz, ideal for LAN voice and data networks, with 4 pairs of 24 AWG copper-caliber drivers, and is commonly used to connect computers and peripherals in internal or external installations according to their coating, meeting standards such as ANSI / TIA / EIA 568C.2.
Main characteristics:
- Type: UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair - Par Trenzado Sin Blindaje).
- Category: 5e (enhanced, improved).
- Speed: It supports up to 1 Gbps (Gigabit per second).
- Band width (frequency): up to 100 MHz.
- Drivers: 4 braided pairs (8 threads) of copper, 24 AWG caliber (American Wire Gauge).
- Use: Computer network facilities (LAN), voice and data.
- Standards: It meets standards such as ANSI / TIA / EIA 568C.2 and ISO / IEC 11801.
- Protection: The braided pairs reduce noise (diaphy).
Common uses:
- Connect computers, printers, scanners and other peripherals to the network.
- Ideal for home and office networks (Ethernet).
Variants:
- Interior: PVC frame (common in blue) for interior.
- Exterior: UV-resistant high density polyethylene (HDPE) and moisture-resistant (CMX) frame for the exterior.
- In short, it is a standard and cost-effective wiring solution for networks that require speeds of up to 1 Gbps, being an improvement on the original Cat 5.
